Position Summary:


We’re seeking a dependable, self-motivated Warehouse Team Lead who thrives on responsibility and takes pride in consistent, high-quality work. This role is ideal for someone with a leadership mindset who can independently manage daily warehouse operations while supporting our Warehouse Manager with facilities, and grounds maintenance. You’ll serve as the go-to leader for the warehouse floor—organizing materials, guiding the team, solving problems, and keeping operations running smoothly with minimal oversight. This role serves as a key liaison between the Warehouse Manager and various departments, ensuring materials and logistics are handled efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead daily operations across warehouse, facility, and grounds to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assumes Warehouse Managers responsibilities in their absence.
  • Support hiring, training, mentoring, and day-to-day oversight of warehouse staff.
  • Proactively identify and resolve operational issues—don’t wait to be asked.
  • Track and process incoming materials and orders, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Handle and resolve issues related to damaged or incorrect materials.
  • Improve and maintain warehouse organization and layout for optimal workflow.
  • Monitor facility cleanliness, equipment upkeep, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Manage documentation, ensuring compliance with quality control protocols.
  • Allocate, stage, and distribute materials for Commercial, Residential, and OPST projects.
  • Coordinate returns from job sites and process accordingly
  • Coordinate pickups and deliveries with vendors and job sites.
  • Oversee routine equipment checks and general facility maintenance.
  • Manage inventory ordering and assist with ordering stock material.
  • Partner with the Warehouse Manager on continuous improvement of operations.
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and professionally.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on leader with proven experience in warehouse, logistics, or construction settings.
  • Strong decision-making ability with a commitment to high standards and follow-through
  • Respects and supports the leadership structure—knows when to lead and when to back up.
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational skills in fast-paced settings.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills.
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication.
  • Computer-literate with strong attention to detail.
  • Bonus: Experience in flooring, building materials, or related trades
  • Lift and/or Move:
    • 10 lbs.: Regularly
    • 50 lbs.: Frequently
    • 75 lbs.: Occasionally

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8:30 am – 5 pm), nights and weekends as needed. While prior warehouse, flooring, or construction experience is beneficial, we are willing to train the right candidate. Compensation is dependent on experience.   • Serve as the highest-trained member of the crew, completing necessary training before the launch of new technicians.
  • Work a modified schedule to include occasional night work as needed based on job requirements.
  • Be physically capable of performing all related tasks.
  • Lead and manage a small team, delegating responsibilities while working hands-on alongside technicians.
  • Ensure well-rounded expertise in surface maintenance (tile, carpet, resilient flooring) and demonstrate a commitment to the division's growth.
  • Execute tasks as scheduled and phased by the Operations Manager (OM), handling complex or high-risk duties and solving on-site issues with minimal OM intervention.
  • Communicate with on-site staff and relay relevant information or requests to the OM.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the OM, working closely with management and other team leaders to ensure crew performance and efficiency.
  • Assist in evaluating technician performance, identifying areas for professional growth, and recommending additional training or incentives when applicable.
  • Provide excellent customer service and act as the on-site coordinator in the absence of the OM, demonstrating professionalism and restraint in challenging situations.
  • Maintain crew performance records in collaboration with the OM, stepping in when necessary but not directly responsible for disciplinary actions.
  • Foster a safe, procedural, and morale-boosting work environment while maintaining an eye for detail and efficiency.
  • Prioritize workplace safety by possessing an OSHA 10-hour certification (training may be provided).
  • Ensure equipment is cleaned and maintained, working with the crew to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Hold a gas card (if applicable) and follow a daily vehicle checklist for loading/unloading, as well as a weekly condition checklist for vehicle maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean driving record and have reliable transportation to and from headquarters.
Qualifications:
  • Relevant experience in janitorial or facilities flooring maintenance, with knowledge of relevant equipment and procedures.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles within the commercial construction, facilities, or maintenance industries a plus.
  • Proven ability to oversee and train small teams.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with a focus on efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and oversee multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Highly organized, motivated self-starter with the ability to set and achieve goals.
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites as needed.

While we hire on an as-needed basis based on project demand, we regularly accept applications from qualified professionals who want to be a part of our growing team and culture. If you have construction experience that is great, if you have flooring experience even better.  If you have no experience but are looking to get into a trade or change careers we would like to talk to you as well.
