Electric Floor Warming Systems

The right flooring can give your room a warm look, but nothing beats an electric floor warming system for adding an extra layer of luxury. Both easy to install and energy-efficient, an electric floor warming system keeps your toes warm on cold mornings – and in some cases, it can even be the sole source of heat in the room.

Where can electric floor warming systems be installed?

Any room can have a warm floor! Kitchens and bathrooms are obvious choices, but sunrooms, mudrooms, living areas, and bedrooms are also great options. Electric floor warming systems work best under tile and natural stone, but can also be installed under some vinyl, laminate and engineered wood floors. And while floor warming systems are a great supplement to your existing heat source, allowing you to have customizable heat zones, small areas can be heated exclusively with a floor warming system, replacing electric baseboard heaters.

Are electric floor warming systems expensive to run?

Not at all! In fact, most electric floor warming systems cost less to run than a 60 watt incandescent light bulb. Using a programmable thermostat lets you control when the system is actively heating, and further increases energy efficiency. For example, a floor warming system installed in a 50 square foot bathroom, run approximately 6 hours per day, will use about 2.2 kilowatt hours per month. At 12.8 cents per kWh*, that’s only 28 cents per month, or less than a penny per day!
