16 Mar Which size tile should I use in a smaller space?

The first instinct for most is to use a smaller format tile, such as a 2”x2”, 4”x4”, 6”x6”, in a smaller area.  Although this can be a beautiful aesthetic, it may visually make your “cozy” space feel a bit too cozy.   Smaller tiles also mean more grout lines to maintain.

Loads of small tiles in a petite shower……that’s A LOT of grout lines!

Utilizing a larger format tile, such as 12”x12”, 18”x18”, 12”x24”, visually expands your space drawing your eye across the room rather than focusing on the smaller tiles and grout lines.  A benefit of larger tiles is fewer grout lines.  When using larger format tiles and selecting a matching grout color, it creates a cohesive and seamless look.

A cohesive space utilizing large format tiles (and way less grout lines!).
